Welcome to the small brewery with big ideas. At Atlas we seek to combine
a modern, international approach to great beers with a deliberately old-fashioned,
meticulous attention to quality. I hope that this website provides you
with a good introduction to our brewery, our beers and our background.
The building where we make our fine beers, is part of Kinlochleven's
history as a place where Aluminuim was made from 1926 until 2001. We
occupy the
old
Carbon
Factory, where large anodes of carbon were produced to play their part
in the electolysis process of aluminium smelting.
From what we've learned, this must have been a very thirsty process for
the men of the factory. Such a pity we didn't come along until all processing
had ended...
